The planning

It has been said often that it isn't always the destination, but the journey in life. I think this is true when you are always looking ahead and missing the "now."

This blog is a journey, destination and dream being fulfilled all in one! I have been to Alaska 3 times in my life, I never thought I would be able to go once. My nephew Will has dreamed of seeing Alaska since reading books by Jean Craighead George. This is part of a "paper" his "teacher momma" made him write:

"The crisp, clean air combined with the wind blowing creates a dazzling effect. Although I can’t see well at night, the aurora borealis reflecting a rainbow of dancing elusive light, illuminates the midnight sky everywhere you look. A boyhood dream is finally fulfilled. The love of wolves and books of Jean Craighead George have fueled the dream since the beginning. An unknown desire to see and tread this barren landscape, against all odds, both physical and emotional, has broken through the barrier of money and doubt to find the warm comfort and rest in a dream. This is my Dream."

With prayer, support from friends and family this dream is coming true for Will and WOW I get to go north to see the "big one" Denali, and be reminded oh so well... how big God is.

Today was "shopping" with my sister to outfit the boy to man! Of course she lives in TN, and me in OH, so we did this by phone and computer... a first for me. For the first time with shopping I didn't have tired feet, and I didn't have to say "no thank you to clerks... I did however have to wait as "momma changed dirty diaper" and I really missed having lunch after we were done!
